I am proud to receive the endorsement of Access MO – a nonpartisan action committee that supports state & local candidates & initiatives that work to maintain & restore reproductive freedom in Missouri.
It is important for all of Missouri’s residents to have access to healthcare, especially reproductive healthcare because it provides them the freedom to have children in a way that works best for them while protecting patients from the complications that are likely to arise. The news in the last few years have not been short on stories of women suffering at the hands of the diminished certainty in the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade – from women being turned away from emergency rooms to a brain dead woman being kept alive to give birth.
In 2024, the voters of Missouri approved an amendment to assure reproductive freedom & protections for mothers, including abortion. Yet the Republican super majority did not like that the voters chose for themselves & implemented a method to repeal Amendment 3.
Through their methods, they could not repeal the passed measure outright & have forced the voters to make the decision all over again, except that they have flipped the required vote. In 2024, a vote of ‘yes’ would protect reproductive freedoms; while in a 2026 a “no” vote is the only way to guarantee that those protections remain in place. Throughout the remainder of this campaign year, myself & others will be stepping up to help assure that the voters are not confused or misled by the Republican super majority’s tricks.
